Dolores May (Fisher) Oakley, 81, of Hoopeston departed this life at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, August 6, 2016, at Heartland Manor Nursing Center, Casey, Illinois.
Mrs. Oakley was born on August 11, 1934, in Summit, Illinois, the daughter of Harold Oscar and Gladys Marie (Robinson) Fisher.
In 1948, her mother and step-father moved to Milford, Illinois, where Dolores met her husband, Ollie Oakley. They were married on June 9, 1951, in Watseka, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 31, 2013.
She is survived by her brothers-in-law- Marvin (Joyce) Oakley of Casey, Illinois and sister-in-law- Lavon (Bob) Figgins of Janesville, Illinois, several nieces and nephews.
In 1963, Dolores and Ollie moved to Hoopeston, Illinois. In 1978, she owned and operated the Pastry Shoppe. She sold it in 1984. Dolores was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ollie, son- David Oakley and three sisters- Judy Caroline Fisher and Darlene Mann both of Milford, Dorothy Thrasher of Paxton. Dolores enjoyed cooking, baking, music, outdoor events and spending time with her family. She will be missed by her many friends and family.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at Floral Hill Cemetery, with Pastor Marvin Oakley officiating. According to her wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family have entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Mrs. Oakley's life.
