Kathryn Jane Seidler

Kathryn Jane Seidler, 90, of Danville, passed away at 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, 2017, at Presence United Samaritans Medical Center.
Mrs. Seidler was born on August 25, 1926, in Danville, the daughter of William C. and Garnetta E. (Haskins) Prast. She married John "Jack" E. Seidler on June 9, 1946, at St. John's Evangelical Church (Danville United Church of Christ). He preceded her in death on April 19, 2011.
She is survived by two sons- Stephen (Judy) Seidler of Fort Myers, FL and Bruce (Judy) Seidler of Bismarck; daughter- Connie (Dale) Carlton of Danville; nine grandchildren- Traci Swanson of Naples, FL, Stephani Seidler of Fort Myers, FL, Brett and Brad Seidler of Naples, FL, Jordan Carlton of Danville, Kendra Carlton of Indianapolis, Jackie, Ricky and Jimmy McCarrier of Fort Myers, Fla.; five great-grandchildren- Tiffany, Joshua, Tessa, Kathryn and Cassandra; three great-great-grandchildren- Tiani, Kiana and Liandre; brother-in-law- Bill (Mickey) Seidler of Danville; several nieces and nephews; and her caregiver/special friend- Julie Barney of Catlin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and one sister.
Mrs. Seidler graduated from Danville High School, in 1943. After high school, she attended Utterback Business College. Kathryn worked at Consolidated Products and Hooks Drugs, in Danville. She was co-owner of Leatherneck Hardware from 1977 to 1990. She was a member of the Bismarck Civic Women's Club and the Vermilion County Home Extension. She was also a member of St. James United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the Bismarck United Methodist Church. Kathryn enjoyed gardening, crafts, puzzles, playing cards and spending time with her family.
A Celebration of Kathryn Jane Seidler's Life will be at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 24, 2017, at St. James United Methodist Church, with Pastor's Randall Robinson and Justin Snider officiating. Burial will follow the service in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Sunday at St. James United Methodist Church. Memorials may be made to the St. James United Methodist Church or the Bismarck United Methodist Church. The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home, in Hoopeston to assist them in honoring Mrs. Seidler's life.
