Margaret Ann Rife

Margaret Ann Rife, 79, of Hoopeston, formerly of Rossville, passed away at 5:33 a.m. Wednesday, January 11, 2017, at Carle Foundation Hospital, in Urbana.
Mrs. Rife was born on April 27, 1937, in Metropolis, Illinois, the daughter of Henry L. and Reba M. (Yates) Dunn. She married Paul E. Rife on August 25, 1954, in Paxton. He survives.
She is also survived by one daughter- Debra L. (Kevin) Miller of Glendale, Arizona; three sons- Ron E. (JoEllen) Rife of Bedford, Indiana, Michael W. (Kate) Rife of Sevierville, Tennessee and Doug (Kathy) Rife of Rossville, Illinois; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and one brother- Henry L. Dunn Jr. of Lehigh, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sister- Betty Glenn and two brothers- Dave and Larry Lee Dunn.
Mrs. Rife attended Rossville High School. She lived in the Rossville area, until Margaret and Paul moved to Arizona in 1995. She was a member of the East University Church of God in Arizona. She was also active in the Women of Church of God and played the church organ. She was a volunteer at the Chrisman Nursing Home and she also bowled on several bowling leagues. She made and taught ceramic classes. She got great pleasure in babysitting grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed camping, growing plants and flowers, and loved anything with butterflies on it. Two of her favorite past times was playing music with her husband "Bud" on the guitar while she played the organ and watching the Arizona Diamondbacks play baseball.
A Celebration of Margaret Rife's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2017, at the Blurton Funeral Home, in Hoopeston, with Pastor Micah Mobley officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in Rossville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Mrs. Rife's life.
