Willie Virginia Bellamy, 83, of Champaign, formerly of Gifford, passed away at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at Champaign County Nursing Home.
Mrs. Bellamy was born on February 13, 1932, in Gallatin, Tennessee, the daughter of John and Mary (Key) Phillips. She married Rufus Bellamy, on September 16, 1955. He preceded her in death on March 15, 1996.
She is survived by five children- Terry Ditchfield of Mahomet, Illinois, Cynthia (Larry) Larkin of Danville, Illinois, Connie Fuller and James Hayes of Gifford, Illinois, Jim (Linda) Bellamy, of West Moreland, Tennessee; brothers- Charles Phillips and Henry Phillips; seventeen grandchild; twenty-nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son- Dan Bellamy, granddaughter- Robin Sanford, one brother and one sister.
Mrs. Bellamy worked at Chanute Air Force Base as an accounting technician and retired in 1988. She enjoyed cooking, nature, crocheting, sewing, her dogs and spending time with family and friends
A Celebration of Life for Willie Bellamy will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015, at the Blurton Funeral Home in Potomac, with Pastor Sally Swaim officiating. Burial will follow the service in Partlow Cemetery. Visitation will be 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Donor's Choice.
