Barbara Egnew

Barbara E. Egnew, 106, of Hoopeston, passed away at 07:05 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2016, at Heritage Health in Hoopeston.
She was born on April 27, 1910, in Hoopeston, Illinois, the daughter of Archie and Mary Jane (Graham) Munn. She married Ross Egnew on May 5, 1938 in Hoopeston, Illinois.
Barbara is survived by thirteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great -great grand-children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brothers and sisters, sons- Robert "Buddy" Egnew, Raymond Egnew ; daughters- Norma Sollars, Ruth Ann Cowan, Dorothy Carter Trent.
Barbara worked over 40 years as a manager at Worthens Department Store. She enjoyed traveling, playing Bridge and was a member of the Ice Water Bridge Club. She was very family oriented and loved spending time with her friends and family.
A Celebration of Barbara Egnew's Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at Hoopeston United Methodist Church, with Cathy Najmon officiating. Visitation will be from 10-11:00 a.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to Hoopeston Public Library or Hoopeston United Methodist Church.
