Billie Norris Obituary

Billie Frank Norris, 91, of Hoopeston, passed away at 11:49 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2018, at his home.

Mr. Norris was born on March 27, 1927, in Burkesville, Kentucky, the son of John and Crettie (Scott) Norris.  He married Irma Marie Matthews on July 16, 1949, in Jamestown, Kentucky.  She preceded him in death on November 1, 2002.

He is survived by two sons-Wayne (Judy) Norris and Dennis Norris both of Hoopeston; three grandchildren- Cindy (Dan) Johnston, Eric Norris and Betsy (Troy) Stevens; two great-grandchildren- Cody Johnston and Morgan Stevens; two sisters- Ruby Milton of San Antonio, Texas and Mary Lou Hickey of Dunlap, Tennessee; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three brothers and two sisters.

Billie worked as a production mechanic at American Can Company for 40 years, until his retirement in 1987.  He enjoyed boating, camping, fishing, traveling, telling stories and socializing at the coffee shop.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at Floral Hill Cemetery, with Pastor Gary Milton officiating.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Billie’s life.  Memories or photos may be shared with the family on his everlasting memorial page at:  www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
