Brenda Brake

Brenda Brake, 58, of Rossville, passed away at 10:56 p.m. Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Heartland Health Care in Paxton.
Brenda was born on December 7, 1956, in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of Charles and Thelma (Hardy) Brake.
She is survived by four sisters- Janice Garrison of Bismark, Sherie Taylor and Sharla Brake both of Rossville Denise (Mark) Ward of Danville; nieces- Monica Polick, Liz Cole, Renae Johnson; great nieces; Amelia and Iris Cole ;great nephews- Alek Cummings, who is also her God Son and Evan Cole ;her dog -Jack.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Brenda graduated from Rossville Alvin High School in 1976. She worked for Hoopeston Foods as an operator in canning. She enjoyed crafts, gardening, loved her pets, holding babies and antique shopping. She was a Chicago sports fan to include: Bears, Bulls and Cubs! Her greatest enjoyment was spending time with family and friends.
A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hoopeston, with Father Patrick O,Neal officiating. Burial will follow the service in Rossville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. Monday, October 26 at the Blurton Funeral Home, Hoopeston, Illinois. Memorials may be made to Hoopeston Animal Shelter. The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Brenda's life.
