Carolyn (Cunningham) Pierce

Carolyn (Cunningham) Pierce, 87, of Tucson, Arizona, formerly of Rossville, passed away at 3:41 a.m. Sunday, November 25, 2018, at Tucson Medical Center.

Carolyn was born on March 29, 1931, in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of Willard and Sophie (Lyons) Cunningham.  She married Paul Beacher Rethelford on June 8, 1996, in Memphis, Tennessee.  He preceded her in death on April 27, 2013.

She is survived by two sons- Bill and Rick Pierce of Tucson, Arizona; two brother-in-law’s- Bob (Rita) Rethelford and Perry (Barb) Rethelford both of Hoopeston; one niece- Jill King of Danville; and one nephew- Mike King of Lakeville, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband- Robert B. Pierce, husband- Paul Rethelford, and one sister- Mary King.

Carolyn worked as a travel agent.  She enjoyed cross stitch, traveling and going to her kid’s activities when she was younger. 

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 13, 2018, at Rossville Cemetery, with Pastor Kevin Purdy officiating.  According to her wishes cremation rites have been accorded.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Carolyn’s life.  Memories or photos may be shared with the family on her everlasting memorial page at:  www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
