Doris Faye (Neal) Petty

Doris Faye Petty, 67, of Hoopeston, passed away at 4:42 p.m. Tuesday, January 23, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital, in Urbana.

Doris was born on April 25, 1950, in Monticello, Kentucky, the daughter of Herbert and Ina (Kennedy) Neal.  She married Dewey Lee Petty on December 29, 1967, in Hoopeston.  He preceded her in death on January 21, 2010.

She is survived by four daughters- Tina (Scott Hensley) Barrett of Southgate, Michigan, Laura (Dennis Grise) Petty, Amy Stephen all of Hoopeston and Susie (Russell Pickett) Petty of Edmonton, Kentucky; one brother- William Neal of Hoopeston; one sister- Kellie Cooper of Hoopeston; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, two brothers and special son-in-law-Darin Stephen.

Doris retired from Schumacher Electric, in Hoopeston.  She enjoyed word searches, latch hooks, playing cards with her family, playing Farmville and she loved her three dogs- Lefty, Ginger and Roxie.

A Celebration of the Life of Doris Faye Petty will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018, at Blurton Funeral Home, in Hoopeston, with Pastor Tom Cici officiating.  Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.  She will be laid to rest following the services in Floral Hill Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the family.  They family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Mrs. Petty’s life.  Memories or condolences may be shared with the family on her everlasting memorial page at:  www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
