My deepest sympathies to Dorothy's family. She's a wonderful woman! Bud & Dorithy were longtime friends of my parents, Dale & Joanna Rush and I was fortunate to spend many visits with both Bud & Dorothy. You might say they were like second parents to us! I'm sure my parents and Bud & Dorothy had their share of times that us kids would rather not know about! LOL! Dorothy was always welcoming and made us laugh, keeping life fun & light! I know Bud, Dorothy & my parents are all in heaven kicking up their heels again!

I tried to send this message once before, but was unsuccessful! The night of July 3, I was just finishing up some work in the backyard when a fireworks display started at a nearby country club. I stood there with a great vantage point all by myself & all I could think about was the 4th of July Mom, Dad, Dave & I were at your farm near East Lynn. We had homemade ice cream & then all of us kids sat on the barnyard gate watching the fireworks from Hoopeston. Of course, all we could see were big balls of colored lights, but it made an impression on me. We never celebrated, but once married & living here, we began a traditional block party with a great fireworks display including an intermission for ice cream & cake. We had 4 generations by the time we quit. I tried to stay in touch with your Mom until 2 years ago when her Christmas card came back. I sent one the next year anyway. The sad part for me was opening my email on the 4th of July & seeing her obituary. How ironic. Mom & Dad thought the world of Ray & Dorothy & they were always special to me.
