Eric Preston Goodrum

Eric Preston Goodrum, 49, passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, April 2, 2017 in Austin, Texas.
Eric was born on July 24, 1967 in Danville, Illinois, the son of Larry (Myra) Goodrum and Gloria March Jacobs.
He is survived by one son -Blaiz(Jhance) Burton of Hoopeston; one granddaughter-Kella Burton of Hoopeston; one sister- Beth( Lloyd) Ravens; one niece- Emma Ravens; four nephews- Beau, William, Mason and Henry Ravens all of Wellington and numerous relatives.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents- Albert and Florence Goodrum, Franklin and Margaret March.
Eric graduated from Hoopeston High School. Soon after graduation, he enlisted into the Navy. He served his country for four years as a flagman on the flight deck of the USS Enterprise.
Eric loved the outdoors, he enjoyed cooking, basketball, country music, being with family and friends, reading his bible. He also loved telling stories of places he had been. He never knew a stranger and was friend to all. He loved the Lord and enjoyed exploring the Gospels. He will be missed dearly missed, his family celebrates the fact that he is at peace with his creator. Private service will be held at a later date. The family has entrusted Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Eric's life.
