Ernest Glen Little, 79, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, formerly of Boswell, Indiana, passed away at 3:20 p.m. Thursday, September 14, 2017, at Penrose Hospital.
Mr. Little was born on August 9, 1938, in Bloomington, Illinois, the son of Franklin Casner and Mary Genevieve (Shirley) Little. He married Clella June Owen on August 31, 1963, at the Boswell Christian Church, in Boswell. She survives.
He is also survived by four sisters- Janet J. (Jim) Miller of Louisville, Kentucky, Roseanna L. Vice of Kansas City, MO, Crystie J. (Tom) Keenan of Maysville, Kentucky and Connie L. Little of Kansas City, MO; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister- Shirley R. Little and nephew- Mark Joeff.
Mr. Little graduated from Boswell High School in 1956. He later graduated from Regis University and Tokyo University. He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served for 32 years as a Chief Master Sergeant, until his retirement in 1989. He then worked as a government contractor for 13 years and a youth counselor for the military. Mr. Little was a lifetime member of the R.E.A. He was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and traveling. He also enjoyed listening to country music, especially Willie Nelson and Merle Haggard. Ernest really enjoyed spending time with the Owen side of the family and Joe "Jose" Owen was like a brother to him. Ernie will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Graveside services for Ernest Glen Little will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, September 25, 2017, at Rossville Cemetery, with Ken Dugan officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the Hoopeston American Legion Post #384. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
