Mrs. Hughes held a special place in my heart. She not only taught me in 2nd grade, but tutored me at home after I was hit by a car because I missed so many days of school. She made school lots of fun! I went back every year to see her & chat with her while I was still in school. I have a letter she wrote to me while I was in my 40's...I still cherish it today...Her handwriting was still so perfect. She believed in my abilities to succeed in my career & in life when at times I didn't believe in myself! I know she's up in heaven with the love of her life....Mr. Hughes. I hope her family finds comfort in knowing she was special to so many kids growing up in a small town...and she helped mold us to have big dreams...and that we could achieve anything we set our minds too. RIP Mrs. Hughes...say hello to Mr. Hughes Forever in my hear!

I’m so sorry for your loss. I didn’t have her as a teacher but I remember she was always a sweet, gentle and kind lady. Thoughts and prayers for your family.

To the family of Glenna Hughes: Glenna was a beautiful sweet Christian woman who was a delight to have conversations with. Our paths crossed from October 2011 to August 2016 as I served as the church pianist/keyboardist at First Christian. Earth has lost a precious lady. May God give you comfort as you mourn her earthly passing.
