Iona A. Hoshauer

Iona A. Hoshauer, 81, of Paxton, Illinois, formerly of Armstrong, passed away at 10:20 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2016, at Heartland Health Care in Paxton.
She was born on November 8, 1934, in Armstrong, Illinois, the daughter of Ed and Eva (Jordan) Frye. She married Lowell Hoshauer on August 28, 1951 in Armstrong, Illinois.
Iona is survived by a son- Ronnie(Lorie Pate) Hoshauer of Fithian; daughter Crystal Jeffries of Armstrong ;brother- in-law Carl Hoshauer of Potomac; two sister-in-law Betty Vaughn of Savoy and Barbara Morgan of Spokane, Washington; five grandchildren- Chelsey Hoshauer, Ryan Brucker, Shaun Griswold, Rebecca Weisman, Chris Smith; eight great -grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother Martin Frye.
Iona enjoyed gardening, flowers, hummingbirds and time with grandchildren. She was very family oriented and loved spending time with her friends and family.
A Celebration of Iona A. Hoshauer's Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 6, 2016, at Blurton Funeral Home, in Potomac, with Pastor Sally Swaim officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to donor's choice.
