Janice 'Jan' Lynn (Brown) Voyles, 67, of Ocala, Florida, formerly of Hoopeston, passed away at 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 9, 2017, at Ocala Regional Medical Center, Ocala, Florida.
Jan was born on September 30, 1949 in Danville, the daughter of Dale and Darlene (Kissack) Brown. She married Steve Voyles on May 17, 1969 in Hoopeston and they were married for 48 years.
She is survived by her husband; daughter-Sara (Paul) Massey of South Chesterfield, Virginia; son- Jeffrey (Daniel) Voyles of Austin, Texas; sister- Jill (Marlin) Palmer of Danville; grandchildren- Samantha, Ian and Abigail Massey.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Jan graduated from Hoopeston High School in 1967. She was a member of First Christian Church, Hoopeston. She was a member of Job's Daughter (Masons) and an Honored Queen. Jan was a devoted Navy spouse, a member of the Officer's Wives Club (OWC), former OWC President. Jan loved to travel, her dogs Sadie and Sophie, and spending time with her grandchildren. Her family was very important to her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Jan was always there whenever you needed her.
A celebration of Jan Voyles's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Blurton Funeral Home in Hoopeston with Pastor Tom Cici officiating, Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at Blurton Funeral Home in Hoopeston.
