In memory of Lavon E. Silver Hoagland (98 years) who passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 27, 2018 at Presence Merkle-Kniprath Countryside in Clifton, Illinois. She was born on September 24, 1919 to Joseph and Orvilla Sprague in Penfield, Illinois.
Lavon was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed traveling, bowling and playing bridge with friends. For many years she was a volunteer in Special Olympics with her daughter, Kathie.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda( Gary) Focken, The Villages, Florida; grandson- Michael(Tammy)Focken of Bonfield, Illinois; granddaughter- Michelle(George & son Garrett)Hurni, Estes Park, Colorado; stepdaughter- Dianne(Mark)Summers; step-son Bruce (Catherine) Hoagland, Birmingham, Al. She enjoyed spending time with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great -great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brother- John; sister -Elvera, husbands- Harry Silver & Jack Hoagland; daughter -Kathie Lynn Silver.
Graveside Service will be held at Floral Hill Cemetery in Hoopeston, Illinois at 1100 a.m. on Saturday, June 2, 2018. Pastor Cathy Najmon will be officiating.
