Nancy Marie (Boten) Hines

Nancy Marie Hines, 71, of Armstrong, passed away at 8:39 p.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at Carle Foundation Hospital, in Urbana.

Nancy was born on May 11, 1947, in Urbana, the daughter of Herman and Anna (Eiskamp) Boten.  She married Harold Hines on October 31, 1965, in Thomasboro.  He survives.

She is also survived by two daughters- Kim (Brad) Velliquette of Armstrong and Angie Lance of Potomac; five grandchildren- Kelsey (Jeremy) Jones, Kourtney (Trent) Fermanich, Kody Newell, Brianna Lance and Brittany Lance; one great-grandson- Jordan Jones; one sister- Eunice Mumm of Sidney: and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one infant brother- Bobby Boten.

Nancy graduated from Armstrong High School, in 1965, and later attended Danville Beauty School.  She was the owner/operator of Nancy’s Beauty Shop, for over 49 years, until her retirement in 2015.  She was a member of Number 10 Church.  Nancy enjoyed bowling, playing the piano and organ, attending gospel concerts and was a lover of chocolate chips.  She also enjoyed mowing and riding in the tractor, spending time with her grandchildren and she was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.

A Celebration of Nancy Hines Life will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018, at Blurton Funeral Home, in Potomac, with Pastor Ted Rohde officiating.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.  She will be laid to rest in Embury Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Brandon Umbarger Memorial or the Number 10 Church.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Nancy’s life.  Memories or photos may be shared with the family on her everlasting memorial page at: www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
