Naomi Vargo met her Heavenly Father March 29, 2019. She was born May 9, 1934 to Samuel and Ruth Hughes. She first married Hubert Cheesman, then later Jim Osborn. Naomi then married the love of her live Louis Vargo in 1975.
Naomi was an amazing mother to Scott (Micki) Osborn of Fithian, step mother to Mark Vargo (Danville). She loved being a grandmother to Courtney (Andrew) Baker of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Johnathan Lyons of Fithian. She had two special nephews, Donald (Cindy) Cheesman and Ronald (Julie) Cheesman, both of Tilton. She also leaves behind dear friends, Shirley Laws of Danville, and Janice Tinder of Tilton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Louis, twin sister Leona (Tiny) Cheesman and special friend Charlie McDaniels. Naomi and Tiny were not only sisters, but the best of friends. She cherished their time together and longed to see her sister in Heaven.
Naomi attended Hooton School and Danville High School and worked at General Electric for several years, but most enjoyed being a homemaker. Shopping, decorating, music, and fashion were her hobbies. She made a beautiful welcoming home with Louis and loved to have visitors stop by. She also loved the Lord and going to church, and never failed to pray for her family and friends. Naomi was a beautiful person, inside and out.
The family extends special thanks to the amazing staff and residents at Autumn Fields in Tilton for loving and caring for Naomi as though she were family. She was blessed to have you all and there are no words to express our gratitude. Thank you to the staff at North Logan Healthcare in Danville and Harbor Lights Hospice for taking great care of Naomi in her last days.
Private services will be held at Blurton Funeral Home, in Potomac, on Tuesday, April 2, 2019. Naomi will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Tilton. Memories or photos may be shared with the family on her everlasting memorial page at: www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com
