Norma Jean (Barker) Deck

Norma Jean Deck, 80, of Hoopeston, Illinois, passed away at 5:25 a.m. on June 28, 2018, at her home. Norma was born April 9, 1938 in Rossville, the daughter of Nelson and Bessie (Redenbaugh) Barker. She was married to Noah Deck on December 23, 1957, who preceded her in death February 5, 2003.  She leaves behind one son-Noah W. Deck Jr of Hoopeston, Illinois; one daughter – Jeanie Long of Hoopeston, Illinois; five grandchildren- Dylan Deck of Hoopeston, Hillary (James) Roddin of Mountain Home, Idaho, Christina (Nathan) Halverson of Albuqurque, New Mexico, David (Veronica) Long Jr. of Albuquerque, New Mexico and Amanda (Jeremy) Gonsalves of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. She was also preceded in death by her parents; husband; son in law- David Long Sr. ; brothers- Earl Barker, Robert Barker, William Barker and Russell Barker; sisters- Elsie Comstock, Evelyn Porter, Maxine Miley, Marjorie Vest and Linda Livingston.  She graduated from Rossville High School in 1957. Norma enjoyed bowling, puzzles, crocheting and studying the bible. She was an avid reader.  A Celebration of Norma Jean Deck’s Life will be at 11: 00 a.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at the Blurton Funeral Home, in Hoopeston, with Rev. John Franklin officiating.  Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  She will be laid to rest in Floral Hill Cemetery. Blurton Funeral Home, Hoopeston is assisting family with arrangements. Memorials may be made to Susan G.
