Viola Kacmar, 96, of Gallatin, TN, formerly of Danville, passed away at 10:56 a.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at Gallatin Health Care.
Viola was born on March 31, 1921, in Poteau, Oklahoma, the daughter of Harry and Bessie (McCallister) Skinner. She married Joseph Kacmar on January 25, 1940, at Fountain County Indiana. He preceded her in death on October 14, 2006.
She is survived by one daughter- Joanna (Donn) Mayoras of Gallatin, TN; Grandchildren- Tyler(Sasha) Mayoras, Stacie (Paul Watson) Mayoras ; two Great-Grandchildren- Isabel Mayoras and Olivia Mayoras.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, sister- Emma Sexton; three brothers- Harry Skinner, Lewis Skinner and Jack Skinner; step sister- Louise.
Viola worked at Bohn Aluminum as a production line worker. She was a member of Northside Church of Christ. Family was very important to Viola and she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. A Celebration of Viola Kacmar' life will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Northside Church of Christ 17167 East 2750 North Road, Bismark, Illinois Burial will follow the service in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017, at Northside Church of Christ. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's A Alzheimer's Association. The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home, in Hoopeston, to assist them in honoring Viola's life.
