Wanda Jean White

Wanda Jean White, 70, of Danville, passed away at 9:45 a.m. Monday, December 11, 2017, at her home.

Jean was born on July 31, 1947, in Lafayette, Indiana, the daughter of Walter and Dorothy (Yaden) Lawson.  She married Ron White on January 5, 1977, in Bolingbrook, Illinois.  He survives.

She is also survived by her mother- Dorothy Lawson of Rantoul; three daughters- Heather (Travis) Schoonover of Danville, Amy (Darrell) Dalton of Catlin and Becky Carmichael of Phoenix, Arizona; one son- Ryan White of Bloomington, Indiana; eleven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters- Karen (Denny) McCool of Dewey, Illinois, Donna (Bill) Mills of Rossville; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father, son-Aaron White, grandson-Jaden White and brother- Mike Lawson.

Jean graduated from Rossville High School in 1966.  She previously worked at TRW in Hoopeston.  She was a previous member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Danville and the Hoopeston and Fisher AMVETS.  Jean enjoyed cross stitch, making Christmas ornaments, doing bead work and making afghans.  From 2007 to 2009, she rode with Ron all over the country and visited every state. 

A Celebration of Wanda Jean White’s Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017, at Blurton Funeral Home, in Potomac, with Pastor Sally Swaim officiating.  Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home.  Jean will be laid to rest in Rossville Cemetery following the services.  Memorials may be made to the family.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Jean’s life.  Memories or condolences may be sent to the family on her everlasting memorial page at:  www.blurtonfuneralhomes.com.
