Beulah "Bonnie" Chesnut

Beulah V.(Bonnie) Chesnut passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 10, 2016.
She was born on August 29, 1924 to William and Gertrude MacWilliams. After completing school, she moved to Miami, Florida, where she met her husband and best friend, Ray Chesnut. They were married for 52 years before his death in 2002. She is also preceded in death by her two sisters Willa Jeeves and Jeanne Beevers.
Bonnie and Ray made the move to Hoopeston in 1957. Besides helping at PlaMor Lanes, Bonnie was active in Hoopeston Hospital Auxiliary, served as chaperone during Sweet Corn Festival and served on the Guardian Council of Jobs Daughters.
Upon retirement Bonnie and Ray moved to Holmes Beach, Florida, at place they called home for many years. While in Holmes Beach, Bonnie was an active member of the Anna Marie Garden Club. With her kind and loving personality, Bonnie developed many friendships which lasted a lifetime.
She is survived by her daughter, Carla Artis, her granddaughter Laura Cox and two great-granddaughters, Emily and Peyton. During her final years in Terre Haute, Indiana, the joy of her life was spending time with her family.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at East Lynn Cemetery. The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home in Hoopeston, Illinois to assist them in honoring Mrs. Chesnut's life.
