Alex Moses Linares 37 of Joliet and formerly Hoopeston Illinois passed away in the early morning hours of Saturday July 18, 2026. Following his older brother Aaron into the next life.
Alex was born January 22, 1989, in Danville, IL to Ernie Linares and Angie (Burton) Gonzalez. He was a 2007 graduate of Hoopeston Area High School and received his associates degree at Joliet Junior College in 2021. Alex worked as an Optical Technician at Pearl Vision.
Survived by his father Ernie Linares and his mother and stepfather Angie and Noe Gonzalez all of Hoopeston; two brothers, Andrew (Becky) Linares of Catlin, IL and Nick (Elizabeth) Gonzalez of Paxton, IL; three sisters, Ashley Linares and Carissa Cahill both of Champaign, IL and Chanelle (Markus) Davis of Rankin, IL. Also survived by five uncles, two aunts, many nieces, nephews and cousins. A host of friends in the Joliet Recovery Community, several very close friends - Ashley, Christina, Holly, Gina, Kayla and Necia.
Preceded in death by his brother, Aaron Linares (June 18, 2026), his paternal and maternal grandparents, three uncles, one Aunt, his niece and his friend, Alex Reamer.
Cremation rights were accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Saturday, August 1, 2026, at the First Church of God, in Hoopeston, IL and in Joliet, IL on August 23, 2026, with place and time to be announced.
A very special thanks to the Joliet Recovery Community for their friendship and love of Alex since he came to the Joliet area.
