Alfonso Espericueta Obituary

Alfonso Espericueta, 48, of Rantoul, passed away at 7:45 p.m. Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Carle Foundation Hospital, in Urbana.

Alfonso was born on August 6, 1972, in Pharr, Texas, the son of Alberto and Josefina (Patlan) Espericueta.  He married Yvonne Garcia on December 23, 1993, in Donna, Texas.  She survives.

He is also survived by three sons- Isaac Alan Espericueta, Julian Isaiah Espericueta and Justin Bryan Espericueta all of Rantoul; two grandchildren- Jeydalis Vyctoria and Ashlynn Yuleydi; four brothers- Antonio (Olga) Espericueta of San Antonio, Texas, Alberto (Irma) Espericueta of Emporia, Kansas, Armando (Norma) Espericueta of Donna, Texas and Angel (Angie) Espericueta of Donna, Texas; two sisters- Maria Ester (David) Rodriguez and Josefina (Homer) Gonzalez both of Donna, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Alfonso enjoyed dancing and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.  He was always joking around and had a great sense of humor.  He loved to make people laugh.  Alfonso was very social and loved spending time with his family and friends.

Cremation rites will be accorded, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Alfonso’s life.  Condolences may be shared with the family on his everlasting memorial page at:  www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
