Benjamin "Ben" Ray Huron Jr., 75, of Danville, passed away at 2:42 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2022, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, in Danville.

Ben was born on December 24, 1946, in Danville, the son of Benjamin Ray and Helen (Stevens) Huron Sr.  He married Lisa Calvert on June 8, 2007, in Danville.  She survives.

He is also survived by one daughter- Kayla (Amber) Spurgeon of Danville; two sons- Bryan (Amber) Williams and Kevin (Tia) Williams both of Danville; eleven grandchildren- Ethan, Marshal, Quinton, Eli, Leland, Sophia and Alice Williams, Zayne Spurgeon, Chelsey and Kali Bohannan and Jayce Clark; two brothers- Bill (Sherry) Huron of Danville and JD (Melody) Huron of Westville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters- Deborah and Mary Huron.

Ben served in the United States Marine Corp.  He worked for several years at Jeld-Wen, in Rantoul, until his retirement.  He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus, in Danville.  He enjoyed fishing, hunting, loved animals, watching NASCAR and enjoyed drinking a cold beer with his friends.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2022, at Danville National Cemetery, with full military rites conducted by the American Legion Post #210.  Following the services there will be a family gathering at Sarge’s Banquet Room.  Memorials may be made to the donor's choice.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home, in Potomac, to assist them in honoring Ben's life.  Condolences may be shared with the family on his everlasting memorial page at:  www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
