Cathleen M. McWethy

 

Cathy, Mother and dear friend to all, died peacefully on Sunday, March 18, 2018, at Farmer City Rehabilitation & Health Care.

She was born February 10, 1953, in Rantoul, a daughter of Lyle McWethy and Evelyn (Downing) Shelton.

She is survived by her son, Michael McWethy; companion, Richard Brown; sisters-Rhonda (Rick) Covington, Pam McWethy, Becky McWethy and Lila (Tim) Weber; and step-father, John Shelton.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Marlena.

Cathy was a retired janitorial business owner, housekeeper, and devoted mother.

Cathy enjoyed watching her son, Michael, bowl, Harley Davidson motorcycle trips with her companion, Richard, and spending time with her sister’s playing cards, Yahtzee or shopping!  Cathy’s zeal for life and feisty personality will forever be missed.

Cathy’s family would like to thank Dr. Christopher Nelson for his time, treatment and friendship to Cathy through her fight against COPD.

A graveside service for Cathy McWethy will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 26, 2018, at the Blue Ridge Cemetery in Mansfield, with Chaplain Vera Duncanson officiating.  Memorials may be made to the Farmer City Rehabilitation & Care.
