Charles “Charlie” L. Kingore, 81, of Hoopeston, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana.
Charlie was born on July 17, 1944, to Jessie and Goldie (Virden) Kingore. He married Sheryl “Sherry” DeVore on February 14, 1983, at First Christian Church in Hoopeston.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Kingore, and several friends who meant a great deal to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Rosie Burton and Shirley Schultz; and two brothers, John and Jarry Kingore.
Charlie worked at Stokley in Hoopeston for more than 20 years, until the company closed. He later spent several years with Martin Lawncare. He enjoyed watching dirt racing and was a devoted fan of Bob and Bobby Pierce. He also looked forward to playing his daily lotto numbers and spending time in the garage with friends while enjoying a cold Diet Pepsi.
Private services will be held, and he will be entombed at Spring Hill Cemetery in Danville. The family has entrusted Blurton Funeral Home with the arrangements. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
