Darrin David Pelszynski, 56, of Bismarck, passed away suddenly on Monday, March 30, 2026, at his home.

Darrin was born on November 7, 1969, in Danville, the son of John Marion and Donna Kay (Martin) Pelszynski Jr. He was previously married to Heather (Divan) Osborne on September 2, 2005, in Danville, and together they welcomed one son, Conner James Pelszynski.

He is survived by his beloved son, Conner; his sister, Jennifer Pelszynski Shanks (Mark Loucks) of Danville; step-daughter- Mersadeez Barrett of Danville; two nieces, Trinity Shanks (Owen Blackwelder) and Tinley Shanks, both of Champaign; as well as several cousins, two aunts, two uncles and many other family and special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Darrin attended St. Mary’s School and Schlarman High School before graduating from Danville High School. He later attended DACC. Throughout his career, he worked at several local businesses, earning various certifications along the way. He spent several years working in quality control at Freight Car and AutoZone and was most recently employed at Lowe’s.

Darrin had a lifelong passion for cars, especially Mopar, and could often be found turning a wrench or perfecting a car stereo system. He enjoyed attending car shows with his son and loved watching all types of racing, having raced dirt bikes himself in earlier years. When not surrounded by cars, he found happiness at the beach, soaking up the Florida sun.

He also enjoyed an ice-cold PBR, listening to rock and roll or heavy metal music, and spending time jamming out with his special cousins, Mikey “Po” Pelszynski and Jeremy “Worm” Martin.

Darrin’s proudest accomplishment was being a father. He was deeply involved in his son’s life, sharing a close bond as father and best friend. Together, they enjoyed playing PlayStation and riding dirt bikes.

Cremation rites have been arranged, and a celebration of Darrin’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to help establish a trust fund for Conner through First Financial Bank. The family has entrusted Blurton Funeral Home in Potomac with arrangements.
