David Clifton Gentry Obituary

David Clifton Gentry, 70, of Potomac, passed away at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, January 30, 2020, at the VA Illiana Healthcare System, in Danville.

David was born on September 6, 1949, in Savanna, Illinois, the son of Vernon Lyle and Betty Marie (Bogart) Gentry.  He married Karen Piatt on January 31, 1975, in Las Vegas, Nevada.  She survives.

He is also survived by one daughter- Salina Gentry; three sons- Rebel (Lisa) Gentry of Clifton, Arizona, Clifton Gentry of Rantoul and Ty (Tiffany) Gentry of McLoud, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law- Neanna Gentry of Meeker, Oklahoma; and ten grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father- Tom Hamm and one son- SSgt David Clifton Gentry II USMC.

David worked at Vermilion Rubber Technology for several years.  He enjoyed reading Louis L’Amour books, fishing, bowling, and just being with family.
