Doris Jean Alexander, 98, of Champaign, formerly of Cissna Park, passed away at 4:37 a.m. Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Country Health, in Gifford.
She was born in Sedalia, Missouri, on August 7, 1926, the daughter of Lewis and Geraldine (Heyworth) Brandt. She was previously married to Carlyle Alexander on August 11, 1946, and together they had four children.
She is survived by two daughters- Susan (Robin) Alexander Bolton of Portland, Oregan and Carol (Darrell) Alexander Hill of Phoenix, Arizona; son-Clayton (Tammy) Alexander of Goodwine; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; two sisters- Lois Hequet of Texas and Pat Barnhart of Kansas City, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son- Daniel Alexander, granddaughter- Jessica Stebbins, great-grandson- Maxwell McDougal and sister- Norma Timm.
Doris worked for Carle and Bishop’s in Champaign for several years. She loved crocheting, quilting, sewing and reading, especially the newspaper. Baseball was her favorite sport - especially watching the Chicago Cubs and White Sox.
According to her wishes cremation rites will be arranged and services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
