On April 29th, 2023, we said goodbye to Douglas Jeffrey Smith. Doug was born on May 1st, 1959, to Donald and Marian (Bradbury) Smith.
He attended Armstrong Township High School. Doug was the owner of Smith Landscaping, Smith Trucking and the Potomac Laundromat/Carwash.
He was preceded in death by his father- Donald Smith.
He is survived by his mother- Marian Smith of Potomac, his sisters Donna Miller of Rantoul, Robin Smith of Urbana and Vicki (Alexander) Ramm of Potomac. He is also survived by his nieces Dawn (Jared) Young, Ashley McKinney and Vanessa (Peter) Rundle and great nephews and niece.
Doug was a man that loved his family, his friends and adventure. He loved to be out in the sunshine on his Harley and to travel. He lived a full life and was never afraid to jump in with both feet. His smile was genuine and his hands weathered from hard work. Doug will be greatly missed by the many that loved and knew him.
