Helen Maxine Catron, 93, of Hoopeston, passed away at 8:56 a.m. Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Amita Health Resurrection Medical Center, in Chicago.

Helen was born on August 30, 1927, in Center, Kentucky, the daughter of Richard and Rendi (Bryant) Coffey.  She was previously married to Ray Catron.  He preceded her in death on April 17, 2005.

She is survived by one son- Roger Catron of Hoopeston; one daughter- Valarie Johnson of Valparaiso, Indiana; four grandchildren- Jessica Catron, Joseph Catron, Lucas Ray, and Billy Bieber; several great-grandchildren; and brother-Gordon Coffey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister- Flora Taflinger.

Helen worked at Joan of Arc Canning Company.  She enjoyed gardening, flowers and spending time with family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2020, at Floral Hill Cemetery, with Pastor Tom Cici officiating.  Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Helen’s life.  Condolences may be sent to the family on her everlasting memorial page at:   www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com
