Joe Ray Whitlow, 76, of Potomac, passed away at 12:08 a.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021, at Carle Foundation Hospital, in Urbana.
Joe was born on April 18, 1944, in Hardin County, Kentucky, the son of Cletus and Lilla (Coffee) Whitlow.
He is survived by his life partner of 43 years- Judy Clementz of Potomac; daughter- Lilla (Jason Williams) Taylor of Potomac; four sons- Curtis (Jenny Reardon) Whitlow of Potomac, Billy (Amy) Whitlow of Covington, IN, Joey (Kim) Taylor of Champaign and Mark Clementz of Potomac; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters- Jean Childers of Danville, Betty Fitzsimmons of Potomac and Doris Jean Scott of Danville; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister- Rosie Asbury and five brothers- Ernie Whitlow, Jack Whitlow, Charles “Salty” Whitlow, Richard Whitlow and Cleo “Dick” Whitlow.
Joe enjoyed fishing, riding his lawn mower, watching wrestling and western movies and he loved joking around.
A Celebration of Joe’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at the Potomac Church of the Nazarene, with Glenda Shelton officiating. According to his wish’s cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials may be made to the family to assist with the funeral expenses.
