Joni L. Johnson

Joni Johnson, 62, of Potomac, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, in Danville.

Joni was born on July 7, 1955, in Danville, Illinois, the daughter of Sellis and Laura (Downing) Lawless.  She married Rick Johnson on July 20, 1973, in Church of Christ, Potomac. 

She is survived by her mother, husband; one daughter- Jenna (Jermaine) Winston of Newark, Delaware; two sons- Jason Johnson of Danville, Illinois and Levi Johnson of Potomac, Illinois; six grandchildren-Betty (Fredrick) Johnson, Antonio Gouard, Ethan Johnson, Seth Johnson, Hayden Johnson and Ariel Winston; one sister- Shirleen Esworthy of Catlin, Illinois; two brothers- Larry Lawless and Ron Lawless both of Potomac, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Joni graduated from Potomac High School in 1973. She worked for Quaker Oats in Danville, Illinois. She loved to garden, in particular growing elephant ears and sunflowers. She also enjoyed playing bingo at the American Legion in Potomac.  She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

  Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, March 12, 2018 at Blurton Funeral Home, Potomac, Illinois.
