Kyle “Cody” Parks, 41, of Rantoul, Illinois, passed away at 5:45pm, Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Carle Foundation Hospital, surrounded by his family. 

Cody was born on January 17, 1983, in Danville, Illinois to Steven Parks and Sherrie (Cox) Thompson. 

He is embraced in death by his mother, Sherrie, who he loved more than life.

He is survived by his father, Steve (Nancy) Parks of Summer Shade, Kentucky; two daughters Jayde (Andrew) Zook of Cornelius, North Carolina, and Riley Parks of Champaign, Illinois; brother Ben (Amber) Self; sister Lindsey (Kyle) Lewis; half-brothers Caleb (Mariah) and Lucas Parks; wife Lindsy Slade; and stepchildren Jasmine Evans, Logan Evans, Kelsea Evans, and Averyonna Crandall. 

Cody attended Potomac Grade School and Armstrong/Rantoul High School. He also took courses in Agriculture at Parkland College. Cody worked numerous jobs, but his passion was cooking, whether professionally or at home, grilling for loved ones. Cody also loved the outdoors. He specifically enjoyed camping, fishing, and mushroom hunting. 

A private service will be held at 10am on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at the Potomac Cemetery followed by a memorial meal.
