Lawrence “Larry” Douglas Card Sr., 66, of Bismarck, passed away at 11:05 p.m. Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at his home.

Larry was born on April 10, 1957, in Geneva, Ohio, the son of Harry Neil and Alice (Courtney) Card.  He married Sheryl Krause on December 19, 1975, in Geneva, Ohio.  She survives.

He is also survived by one daughter- Jennifer (Brett) Deffenbaugh of Perrysville, Indiana; four sons- Thomas Card of Bismarck, Larry (Lindsey) Card Jr. of Oakwood, Jerry Card of Catlin and Brandon (Kristen) Card of Rossville; daughter-in-law-Scarcey Card of Bismarck; seven grandchildren- Sierra Moulton, Owin, Isaac, Ariana, Landyn, Livia and Hadley Card; and one great-granddaughter- Finley James Moulton.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Larry graduated from Geneva High School in 1975.  He worked as a maintenance mechanic for several years in the area.  He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He also enjoyed woodworking, gardening, listening to music, drinking an ice-cold beer, and most recently riding around on his Kawasaki Mule.  He also loved spending time with his family.

According to his wishes cremation rites will be arranged and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home, in Hoopeston, to assist them in honoring Larry’s life.  Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.  Condolences may be shared with the family on his everlasting memorial page at: www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
