Margaret Black Obituary

Margaret Rose Eggmann Black, 46 of Danville IL joined the leagues of heavenly angels Tuesday, April 9, 2019, at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born January 28, 1973 daughter of Billie Gundlach. A graduate of Danville High School class of 1991, she went on to earn her Associates Degree from Danville Area Community College.

Margaret touched countless lives assisting many families in their adoption process, as assistant manager at Jocko’s in Danville, Food Supervisor 2 at the Danville Area Correctional Facility and the family business, Joyful Bubbles. She loved flowers, music and her many friends.

She married Don Ray Black, the love of her life on September 17, 2004. Her greatest joy was her family- Don, son Nick Pletke, step daughter Ali (Isaac) Garnica and sons Vaughn and Shaw Black.

She lived her life passionately and always with others placed first. Her courageous battle with cancer has been an inspiration to many.

Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved mother Billie Gundlach and father, brother Severn Gundlach, sister Suzanne Gundlach Knight and nephews Nick Gundlach and Chris Knight. Her husband Don, children Nick, Ali & Isaac, Vaughn, Shaw, sister In law Karen Gundlach many nieces and nephews and extraordinary family friend Rod Ivy and countless friends will carry on her mission to lead their lives in a “Caring and Sharing” way.

A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held Sunday, April 14th at Turtle Run starting at 3pm. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to an education fund benefiting Vaughn and Shaw Black in an account to be determined. Contact Don Black for more information. Margaret’s favorite color was purple, it would honor her greatly if you wear purple to celebrate her life with her family.

She will be laid to rest in Homer Cemetery at private family ceremony at a later date.
