Marjorie N. (Coffey) Pickett Obituary

Marjorie N. Pickett, 85, of Hoopeston, passed away at 5:40 p.m. Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Carle Foundation Hospital, in Urbana.

She was born on January 3, 1939, in Three Springs, Kentucky, the daughter of Richard Lee and Alma J. (Cross) Coffey.  She previously married Charlie Pickett, in 1974, in Hoopeston.  He preceded her in death in 2024.

She is survived by three daughters- Delena Kay Buenting of Springfield, Ohio, Colleen Sue Ehmen of Springfield, Ohio and Lesa (David) From of Wellington, Illinois; two sons- Ricky Lee (Joyce) Coffey of Fisher, Illinois and Russell Pickett of Campbellsville, Kentucky; one brother- Gordon Coffey of Rossville; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three grandchildren, two brothers- Wendall Coffey and Jackie Coffey and two sisters- Betty Lou Voyles and Shirley Linder.

Marjorie previously attended the Potomac Church of the Nazarene with her sisters.  She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the river boat and going to casinos.  She also enjoyed going to her grandchildren’s ballgames and traveling with her sisters.  Marjorie enjoyed a good cup of coffee and eating cookies.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, June 28, 2024, at the Blurton Funeral Home, in Potomac, with Pastor Dan Mikel officiating.  Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.  Burial will follow the service in the Potomac Cemetery.  Memorials may be given to the family to assist with the funeral expenses.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Marjorie’s life.  Condolences may be shared with the family on her everlasting memorial page at:  www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
