Patrick Alan Gillespie

Patrick Alan Gillespie, 57, of Fithian, passed away Friday December 24 2021 at 9:47 pm in the OSF Heart Medical Center ER, Danville. 

Patrick was born November 17, 1964, in Danville, IL,  the son of Sydney and Joan Gilles Gillespie    He married Denise Coon on December 17 2010, in Danville, she survives.

He is also survived by 2 daughters- Jessica (Ray) Gillespie of Hillsboro, IN and Ashley (Jeff) Robertson of Danville, IL;   1 son- Aaron Gillespie of Lafayette, IN;  8 grandchildren- Bryson, Kaci, Jaxon, Noah, Violet, Brantley, Caden, and Ryleigh;   2 brothers- Paul Gillespie of Fairmount, IL  and Joe (Juli) Gillespie of Fithian; 1 sister- Debbie Edmondson of Louisville, KY;   he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father Sydney, mother Joan and grandson Levi and 1 “brotha” Jeff Crowder and his beloved fur baby Tulip aka “Tulli”.

Pat was a maintenance man for Eagle Wings in Rantoul, IL and Danville Building Commission.  He enjoyed dirt track racing, hunting, mushrooming and he enjoyed the outdoors.  He was passionate about playing guitar.  Pat enjoyed his friends within his small neighborhood and loved spending time with his family.

Visitation will be Thursday December 30, 2021 from 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm, with the funeral at 3:00 pm at Blurton Funeral Home, in Potomac.  Burial will follow the service in Embury Cemetery, in Collison, IL.    In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Pat’s life.  Condolences may be shared with the family on his everlasting memorial page at:  www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
