Rebecca “Becky” A. Murray, 64, of Hoopeston, IL, passed away on October 1, 2023, surrounded by her family. 

Rebecca was born on August 22, 1959, in Elkhart, Indiana, to the late Clifford and Jean Murray. She was preceded in death by her parents and great nephew Matthew Niemi.

Surviving is Rebecca’s daughter-Sarah Barker of St. Louis, MO. Rebecca’s siblings-Pamela (Chauncey) Baldwin of Crystal Lake, IL, Janet (Marty) Freeman of Mishawaka, IN and Robert (Monica) Murray of Ponce De Leon, FL; seven nieces and nephews, along with twenty-three great-nieces and nephews. 

Rebecca graduated from Concord High School in 1978, where she was on the school swim team and on the cheer block. Rebecca worked at Crittson Financial for over 10 years and Martin’s Supermarket for over 15 years. She was an avid reader, Notre Dame football fan and loved all things Disney. She also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the Blurton Funeral Home, in Hoopeston. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home, with Pastor James Baldwin officiating.  A burial will follow the service at Oakland Cemetery, in Montezuma, Indiana.  In memory of Rebecca, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Becky’s life.  Condolences may be shared with the family on her everlasting memorial page at:  www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
