Richard “Rick” E. Tucker, age 54, of Potomac, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 7:02 p.m.
He was born on July 11, 1971, in Danville, IL, the son of Earl and Betty (Esworthy) Tucker. Rick was previously united in marriage to Patches Heron on May 7, 1995, in Alvin, Illinois.
He is survived by his daughter, Mekenzy Tucker (partner Knox King) of Kalamazoo, Michigan; sister, Jeana Tucker of Collison, Illinois; brother, Jeff Tucker (wife Brenda) of Fisher, Illinois; and niece, Amber (Jed) Fitzpatrick of Fisher, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his uncle, Jack Esworthy.
Rick graduated from Potomac High School. He was employed at Kraft Foods in Champaign for over two decades and most recently worked for Conagra in Henning. Rick had interests in hunting, fishing, boating, and spending time with his dogs. He also appreciated watching racing events and relaxing with a cold beverage.
Visitation is scheduled from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Blurton Funeral Home in Potomac. Cremation rites will be arranged following the visitation. Memorial contributions may be made in Rick’s name to the Vermilion County Animal Shelter. The family has entrusted Blurton Funeral Home with assisting them in commemorating Rick’s life.
