Robert William Parish (Bob) passed away peacefully on October 30, 2025, at home, after a long battle with heart disease. Up until the end, Bob kept his sense of humor, prankster nature, and love for his family and his dogs.
Bob was born in Champaign, Illinois, to Bill and Darlene Parish on March 8, 1964. Bob spent most of his childhood and part of his adult life in Seneca Falls, New York. He moved back to Champaign at the age of 32 and met the love of his life, Ruthie, and married on February 20, 1998. Together, they have seven children: Tony McConaha (Amy), Tisha Ploense (Mark), Jesse McConaha (Haley), Brandon Parish (Misha), and Chantel Parish. They have eighteen grandchildren: Adrianna, Anthony, Lakota, Dylan, Andy, Lily, Maddi, Breanna, Emily, Saralyn, Tysen, Aaden, Trevon, William, and Brayden. And two Great-grandchildren: Emilia and Liam.
He was preceded in death by his dad, William (Bill) Parish, and his mom, Darlene Parish (Shipley).
Bob enjoyed building model cars, dirt-track racing, working on cars, spending time with his family, going to church, driving the hay-rack ride for Hot Dogs and Hayrides at Harvest Church every fall, and going thrift store shopping with his wife. Bob loved to decorate the house for Christmas and spend every Christmas Eve with his kids and grandkids. Bob also enjoyed cheering his grandchildren on at their sporting events. Bob loved eating at Golden Corral and campaigning for Trump, down to his Trump socks.
Bob will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. He was always willing to help anyone, and would give the shirt off his back.
