Rodney Rakes, 75, passed in his home in Rural Potomac on Wednesday August 18, 2021. 

 

Rodney was born on November 1, 1945, in Lebanon, Ky. He worked at SuperValu, in Urbana, where he retired in 2007. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, wildlife, and NASCAR.  If he was outside, he was happy.

 

He is survived by his wife, Janice Rakes, his son Tony (Linda) Rakes, his daughter Cybil Johnson, 5 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.

 

Services will be held in private.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home, in Potomac, to assist them in honoring Rodney’s life.  Condolences may be shared with the family on his everlasting memorial page at:  www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
