Ronald "Jake" L. Ellett Jr.

Ronald “Jake” L. Ellett Jr., 60, of Penfield, passed away at 5:07 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 2021, at Carle Foundation Hospital, in Urbana.

Jake was born on June 12, 1960, in Portsmouth, Virginia, the son of Ronald Leroy and Evelyn Ann (Tatem) Ellett Sr.  He is survived by his mother- Evelyn Ellett of Danville; fiancé- Jackie Davis of Penfield; step-daughter- Brittany Spear of Veedersburg, Indiana; two step-sons- Chris (Aubrey Imler) Spear of Cates, Indiana and Justin (Samantha) Davis of Attica, Indiana; two sisters- Terry (Don) Ellett of Danville and Melany Morris of Oakwood; several step-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father- Ronald L. Ellett Sr. and grandparents- Leroy and Marge Ellett and Benny and Bessie Tatem.

Jake graduated from Armstrong High School, in 1978.  He worked for several years as a truck driver and most recently worked at United Prairie.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren.  He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, riding his Harley, and going on poker runs.

A Celebration of Jake’s Life will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at Blurton Funeral Home, in Potomac.  Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, at the funeral home.  Cremation rites will be accorded following the services.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Jake’s life.  Condolences may be shared with the family on his everlasting memorial page at:  www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
