Ruth O. Thornsbrough

Ruth O. Thornsbrough, 92, of Bend, Oregon, formerly of Westville, Illinois, passed away on September 10, 2021. She was born August 7, 1929 in Cayuga, Indiana to Orville and Susan Ellis Boyd. She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Jay Franklin, her second husband of 33 years, Thomas Thornsbrough, her brothers Frank and John, and her sisters Charlotte Montgerard and Kate Giguere.
Ruth retired as Office Manager for the Vermilion County Regional Superintendent of Schools and also worked in the Learning Center of McMillan School. She had also been the Village Clerk for the city of Westville.
She is survived by her children and stepchildren, Cindy Wake (Arnie) of Lincoln City, Oregon, Nancy Howard (Dewey) of Odessa, Florida, Jeanne Franklin of Georgetown, Illinois, Mark Thornsbrough (Donna) of Dunedin, Florida, Deborah Waitkus (Barry) of Springfield, Illinois, Rebecca Meeker of Palm Harbor, Florida, and Eric Thornsbrough of St. Petersburg, Florida, as well as many grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
