Scott Owen Shannon

Scott Owen Shannon, 63, of Rossville, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday morning, February 10, 2026.

Scott lived a life rooted in family, hard work, and simple joys. In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later time. The family has entrusted Blurton Funeral Home with arrangements.

Born on May 30, 1962, in New Brunswick, New Jersey, Scott was the son of Robert Eugene and Mildred (Lawrence) Shannon. He grew up in Edison, New Jersey, and graduated from Edison High School. Throughout his life, Scott worked as a maintenance mechanic, a role that reflected his practical skills and strong work ethic.

On September 13, 1986, Scott married Virginia Dunn, in Highland Park, New Jersey.  Scott found happiness in the simple pleasures—fishing, gardening, and playing pool—and he proudly supported his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers.

Scott will be deeply missed by his wife, Virginia Shannon of Rossville; his children, Allen Shannon of Rossville and Christina (Andrew) Ford of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; his seven cherished grandchildren; and his sister, Linda Sue Shannon of Edison, New Jersey.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Roy Shannon; his sister, Diane Zick; and an infant brother.
