Teemalie "Doreen" Persaud

Teemalie "Doreen" Persaud, 78, of Oakwood and New Providence, Guyana, passed away at 7:52 p.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021, at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center, in Danville.

Doreen was born on April 17, 1943, in Georgetown, Guyana, the daughter of Mohan Lall and Lillowtie (Sing) Persaud.  She married Jiechan Persaud on July 7, 1967, in Georgetown, Guyana.  He survives.

She is also survived by two daughters- Karmini (Claudio Jenny) Persaud of Oakwood and Sandy Persaud of Oakwood; four grandchildren- Hadiya Jagroop, Anya Jenny, Maya Jenny and Arav Jagroop; two brothers- Ram and Barry Persaud; one sister- Indira "Dolly" Persaud; her God children- Gina Chin, Ken Persaud and Jerome Persaud; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and very close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son- Hemchandra "Suren" Persaud and brother- Latchman Persaud.

Doreen graduated from Tutorial High School, in Georgetown, Guyana.  She enjoyed reading, cooking, being involved with her religious activities and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. Friday, November 19, 2021, at Blurton Funeral Home, in Potomac.  Private family services with cremation will be held later.  The family has entrusted the Blurton Funeral Home to assist them in honoring Doreen's life.  Condolences may be shared with the family on her everlasting memorial page at:  www.BlurtonFuneralHomes.com.
