Todd Raymond Jameson Obituary

Todd Raymond Jameson, aged 68, of Potomac, peacefully passed away at 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at his home, with his family by his side.

Todd was born on October 6, 1956, in Danville, to Thomas R. and Patricia Ann (Putman) Jameson. He married Kim Talbott on May 16, 1976, at the Potomac Church of the Nazarene, and she survives him.

He is survived by his sons Travis (Marcy) of Springfield, Troy (Shawna), and Trevan (Amy) of Potomac; fifteen grandchildren Elle, Haley, Emma, Lily, Shelby, Tristan, Quinn, Si, Pax, Via, Riot Jameson, Jake, Claire, Will, and Lilia Stegeman; a great-grandson, Grayson Stegeman; sister Mary (Stan) Remole; aunt Delena Rhodes; cousins Lee Jameson, Judy Steffen, and Vickie Trask Cooper; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, paternal grandparents- Curt and Louise Jameson and maternal grandparents- Forrest and Mary Putman.

Todd graduated from Potomac High School in 1974.  After high school, he became the owner of T&J Gas Station here in Potomac.  He later worked for 29 years for IDOT, until his retirement in 2008.  After retiring he operated TR Jameson Construction for several years.  He was also a past member of the Potomac Grade School Board.  Todd was a hard worker and loved to stay busy and help other people.  His family and friends were very important to him and never missed his grandchildren’s sporting events.  He also enjoyed cutting firewood, fishing, hunting, kayaking and riding his motorcycle.  Todd was a great man who always had a smile on his face and a nice word to say about someone.  He was a very loyal and dedicated person to his family and his community.  He was very loved by everyone who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family and community.

A Celebration of Todd’s Life will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 3, 2025, at the Potomac Community Building, with a service beginning at 7:00 p.m., officiated by Jeb Kennel. In accordance with his wishes, cremation rites will be arranged. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. The family has entrusted Blurton Funeral Home in Potomac to assist them in honoring Todd’s life.
