Matt A. Blurton
Matt was born and raised in Vandalia, Illinois. While he was in high school he assisted his dad-Gary in the Fayette County Coroners office. It was during that time he developed his passion for funeral service. He attended Vincennes University in Vincennes, Indiana, where he obtained his degree in Mortuary Science. Matt came to the Danville area following his graduation. In 2001, he married his high school sweetheart, Jennifer. They have three children-Marcus, Makayla and Madilyn. Matt's passion is helping people through one of their most difficult times. When he is not at the funeral home he spends his time as an assistant football coach for the HASAAP Cornjerkers and spending time with his family. Matt is an avid Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals fan. He is also a member of St. Pauls Catholic Church in Danville and Hoopeston Chamber of Commerce.
Bruce was born and raised in Danville. He graduated from Bismarck High School in 1969. Bruce worked for 31 years at the Danville Post Office as a mail carrier, until his retirement in 2006. He has been married to his wife Judy for 37 years. Bruce enjoys working in his yard, woodworking and remodeling things. He also enjoys traveling with his wife to Florida Keys. Bruce has worked with Matt since 2006.
Wolfe-Blurton Funeral Chapel Office Manager
Sherry was born and raised in Vandalia IL. She worked for 20 years in the Fayette County Courthouse in the Circuit Clerks office. In 2007 she and her husband Gary moved to Danville IL to be closer to their son Matt and his family. Sherry works at Danville Polyclinic in the accounting department and helps out at the funeral homes in the office and visitations and services. Sherry is a member of the Women Making a Difference in Hoopeston. She enjoys being active in the community and is looking forward to meeting new faces in the community.
Brown-Alkire Funeral Chapel Office Manager
Jennifer was born and raised in Vandalia, Illinois. She moved to Danville with Matt in 2001 and they were married later that year. Jennifer and Matt have three children together. Jennifer works as the graphic artist for the funeral homes. She is a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church. When she is not at the funeral home she enjoys volunteering at Schlarman Academy. She also enjoys traveling to Disney World and going flea markets.
Funeral Director Assistant
Gary was born in Effingham, Illinois and lived there until the age of 8. He then moved to Peru, Indiana and then Liberty, Missouri. Gary's father was transferred to Vandalia, Illinois where he attended junior high and high school. Gary and his future wife, Sherry, were high school sweethearts and later married. Gary is a licensed Respiratory Therapist and a Paramedic. He currently works full time with Pro Ambulance in Champaign/Urbana. He also works as a Funeral Director Assistant at the funeral home.
