I have so many good memories of my old neighbors. I miss our long talks shared Christmas goodies and friendship. I regret I will not be able to make it to the memorial. To Vickie and all of Loraines family my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I will always treasure my memories with both Lorraine and Dale.

Lorraine was my neighbor growing up in Hoopeston. I will always remember her as an enduringly kind woman who was absurdly patient with three young boys despite our frequent mischief going on across the street. She was always generous, engaging, and friendly -- just a great person. I last saw her about a year ago and her mind was still sharp and could remember numerous details about my childhood that even I had forgotten. I was looking forward to seeing her the next time I was home and am so very saddened to hear of her passing. I hope she knew how much we all cared for her in our family. I did not have a chance to meet very many of her family members, nor did I ever know her as "Rennie" (although now I wish I had!), but please know that she had a real, material impact on the lives of her neighbors and was absolutely beloved on our street. My life is better for having had her in it. She will be terribly missed. Thank you all for sharing her with us and please accept my sincerest condolences for your loss.
